Hip Hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs was arrested in September 2024 and has been on trial since May 5, 2025 for alleged sex trafficking. The jury has finally reached a verdict:
Transportation to engage in prostitution (2 Counts): Guilty
Sex Trafficking: Not Guilty
Racketeering Conspiracy: Not Guilty
The charges of transportation to engage in prostitution each carry a jail sentence of 10 years, that of which prosecutor Maurene Comey will try and push for Combs to get the full 20 years. Although the judge reminded the court several times of choosing a fair and impartial jury, this verdict comes as a shock and disappointment to many, including the survivors of Combs' alleged rape and assault. More than 100 men and women across the U.S. have filed lawsuits against Combs, but Combs' legal team dismissed the flurry of lawsuits as "clear attempts to garner publicity".
Judge Arun Subramanian proposed 3 October as a sentencing date for Combs, but the defense asked for an expedited schedule. The lawyers will meet again on 8 July to further discuss the schedule. The judge said Combs would get 10 months credit for time served.
